“Serene, the King surveyed the scene. A bitter sun was spitting sun was spitting on a silent waste of blood soaked rubble. In ruins, the Square was strewn with junk. The blasted streets seemed one vast dump. A reeking haze seeped from a mash of blazing trash and pissed out ash. Corpses littered limp as lumps. Butchered bodies lay in chunks. Hacked off stumps from human trunks, stiff with gore, were going black.”
